About Headingley
 
Headingley is very student orientated, it has just about everything needed by the student of today. There are numerous good drinking establishments all within easy staggering distance from our properties. Opposite you have the Headingley Taps, a large pub that serves food and all the usual alcohol. The Taps has twin big screen satellite TV for all the latest events. Music etc is played most of the time in the bars.

Then there is the Skyrack some 200 meters up the road, now this is a lively pub. I am told it is Whitbreads largest retail output in the UK. It too has the large screen TV and serves a wonderful selection of beers.


The Original Oak
 
Opposite the Skyrack is The Oak, a Tetley pub of great fame. Again large screen TV and loads of fine beers and music. These are just three pubs near to our property.

Just 150 meters down North Lane is the newest attraction in the form of The Arc. This is an extension of the Lounge Cinema. The Arc was opened this summer (2000) and is a great place for a night out. It has two bars one on the ground floor in the shape of a huge arc, hence the name. On the first floor there is another bar with outside balcony. There is a large area set at one side for eating and a quite comprehensive menu is on offer. The balcony is a very pleasant spot to sit on a nice day or night to enjoy a hot or cold drink and watch the pleasures of Headingley unfold before you.

22 and 24 North Lane

Both these properties make up the block of three that we own. They are identical in every way and were fully refurbished in 2004. They comprise of six bedrooms, five of which have double beds. All bedrooms have new beds and new pine effect furniture comprising the following fittings:

  • Student computer station desk and chair
  • Wardrobe with three drawers under
  • Two chests of drawers with three and five drawers respectively
  • Bedside cabinet

The bathroom comprises of WC, wash basin and bath with electric shower over bath. The bathroom suites in both properties were renewed in summer 2004. The sitting room is at the rear of the property and is wired for cable TV and telephone. The basement kitchen is large and has a gas cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. It is also plumbing for a washing machine. A burglar alarm is installed.

Both properties are fully central heated by a gas combi boiler and radiators are fitted in every room. The properties were both re-carpeted in every room and staircase in 2004. Kitchens and bathrooms have vinyl floor covering. These properties have their own large private front lawned garden ideal for the summer barbecue. The gardens are maintained by our own staff.

This property is one of a block of three. Fully central heated by a gas-fired combi-boiler and with radiators in all rooms, it has two double bedrooms that command an excellent view over the North Lane area of Headingley. The sitting room also has good views out over North Lane. There is a good sized kitchen area with fridge/freezer, microwave oven and a gas cooker with plumbing for a washing machine.

The property was refurbished and rewired in 2004 and all electrics are to current regulations. A new bathroom suite was fitted with an electric shower over the bath. The furniture and fittings are all to standard requirements.

This charming detached stone cottage of great character stands in its own private garden, maintained by our own staff. The cottage was fully refurbished in 2005. It was decorated throughout and new Wilton carpets were fitted in every room. The kitchen was rebuilt and fully re-plastered to a high standard. Ivy Cottage stands in a quiet part of Headingley, but is extremely convenient for all the local amenities.

The cottage comprises of three bedrooms, plus a large sitting room and a communal kitchen with dining area. The kitchen and dining area is to the rear of the property. Cooking is by electric stove and there is a plumbed-in point for a washer. There is a standard size fridge/freezer and microwave oven already supplied. The cottage is central heated by a gas-fired combi boiler and has radiators in all rooms and passageways.

The property was rewired in 1999 in line with current IEE regulations. The bathroom suite and electric shower (over the bath) are all new fitted in 2003. Furniture and fittings are all to standard requirements and a burglar alarm is fitted.
